82nd Airborne paratroopers missing in Afghanistan
Two American soldiers disappeared in western Afghanistan after a routine resupply mission, and more than 25 NATO and Afghan security forces members were wounded while searching for them. CNN reports the missing paratroopers are from Fort Bragg.

N.C. honors veterans with parades
North Carolina will honor veterans Saturday with annual parades in Raleigh and Fayetteville and a wreath-laying ceremony at the State Capitol building.

'She probably saved a lot of lives'
The civilian police officer who ended a shooting rampage at Fort Hood on Thursday by shooting the suspected gunman is a North Carolina native, as is one of the soldiers wounded in the incident.
