Boys Lacrosse Rankings: In last regular season top 25, Orange moves up and Durham Academy moves in

Orange jumped from 19th to 14th. amid some top-20 shuffling, but the bottom was almost untouched from a week ago, save for Durham Academy joining the rankings to replace Weddington.

Boys Tennis Rankings: Four teams join top 25 at end of regular season; nine join area code rankings

The top teams in the midseason area code rankings are: Croatan (252), Jordan (919), Terry Sanford (910), Northwest Guilford (336), Providence Day (704), and T.C. Roberson (828).

Boys Lacrosse Rankings: Weddington, Northern Guilford join, Marvin Ridge rises

Marvin Ridge moved up from 18th to 12th and Holly Springs fell from 11th to 14th and Topsail (after an upset loss to unranked Laney) fell from 13th to 22nd. Ardrey Kell was also on the move, jumping from 19th to 16th.

Twenty-nine players are making the team for the second or third time, led by five players who became three-time honorees.

Athens Drive fell to Broughton the same week Broughton was upset by Leesville Road, causing both to fall. Marvin Ridge held off Ardrey Kell, lifting the Mavericks and some of its opponents.

The only new team in the statewide top 25 was Charlotte Christian, which defeated Charlotte Country Day to solidfy its spot at No. 16. The Knights replace Orange.

Charlotte Latin was a full 34 points ahead of second-place Marvin Ridge, the N.C. High School Athletic Association 4A champ, and a whopping 74 ahead of third-place Ardrey Kell.

In the final girls basketball area code rankings, North Pitt is ranked first in the 252, Grace Christian of Sanford in the 919, Terry Sanford in the 910, High Point Christian in the 336, West Rowan in the 704, and Cherokee in the 828.

In the final boys basketball area code rankings, Farmville Central is ranked first in the 252, Northwood in the 919, New Hanover in the 910, Reidsville in the 336, Central Cabarrus in the 704, and Christ School in the 828.

Girls Lacrosse Rankings: Chapel Hill slides to fourth as two new teams enter

The biggest result of the week was a win by Weddington over Chapel Hill in a top-5 showdown. The Tigers only fell one spot, as Charlotte Latin moved up.

Boys Lacrosse Rankings: Green Level slides into third going into week 4

Green Level had perhaps the biggest win of the week, defeating Cardinal Gibbons in overtime on Saturday to jump to third.
