Beloved Raleigh jazz club closes its doors
After more than a decade in business, cocktail bar and jazz club C. Grace has closed its doors.
Posted — UpdatedCatrina Godwin opened the business in November 2011. She announced the closure of C. Grace and its companion upstairs bar, the Empress Room, on Monday.
"To all the many guests and musicians who graced our room, became friends and supported us - thank you from the bottom of my heart. You made the journey worth it and filled my evenings with delight, fun stories and fond memories. Our doors may close, but I, and my family, will always treasure the last decade at C. Grace and Empress. Thank you," Godwin wrote on social media.
Grammy-nominated trumpet player Al Strong and his band performed at C. Grace on Saturday. The performance was in celebration of Strong's newest album release.
C. Grace was located at 407 Glenwood Ave.
