RALEIGH, N.C. — With the help of local restaurants, an upcoming fundraiser aims to raise $60,000 to provide 375,000 diapers to families who struggle to afford them.

Next week, The Diaper Train, the largest diaper bank in Wake County, is joining forces with businesses along Glenwood South and in Raleigh for a virtual fundraiser to raise money and collect diapers for families in need.

The event kicks off with one in-person event on Tuesday, Nov. 9, with a Pack the Truck diaper collection event at Lynnwood Brewing Concern. The public can stop by to donate diapers between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m., and Lynnwood will donate $1 to the cause for each beer sold. Donations of wipes and board books will also be accepted.

Plates Kitchen, Raleigh Beer Garden and The Raleigh Wine Shop are also participating in an online raffle through Nov. 12.

The public can make a donation to The Diaper Train or buy raffle tickets online. A $50 donation provides up to 250 diapers to Wake County children. Raffle tickets start at $10, and prizes include gift cards to restaurants, tickets to the Carolina Hurricanes and more.
With the help of 11 businesses, 2020's virtual fundraiser raised over $61,000.

The Diaper Train has provided over 5 million diapers for Wake County families since its inception in 2010.
