It all starts with tempo for these men who have adopted the motto "Why Not Us?" The Wolfpack have to play fast and smart to beat Purdue.

NC State's men's basketball has competed in the NCAA tournament 29 times with four final four appearances and two NCAA championships. After waiting 41 years, wolfpack is convinced this is their year. What do you see in this team that's carrying them as far as they've gone? They, they believe, um, Kevin Keats has gotten them to believe Bob Holiday says DJ Horne took it to heart and I said, you know, why not us, why not us? And that's become their motto. In 1974 David Thompson led his team to a championship over Marquette 1983. Jim Valvano led the wolfpack to the championship game against heavily favored Houston known for high flying dunks five slam up. And then we'll remember state's incredible run of outside shots. Houston got into terrible foul trouble. Uh, Clyde Drexler, I think picked up his fourth in the first half. State's long range gunners hit bull's eye after bull's eye in the game's winning minutes. As the game ended, security guards held the media back. Holliday and Jennings were in the dark about the outcome. The first person we saw was Chancellor Bruce Pol Chancellor. What happened? Lorenzo Charles dunked it at the last second winning by two points just like 74. They like 74 Jay Jennings barely got through the crowd to catch this moment one which holiday will never forget. Jay Jennings got a beautiful shot of Coach V swinging the net. Thank goodness we got on the court. Now, ho marvels at NC State's 2024 teams climb earlier in the season. Fans were calling for a coaching change. Now, Keats has proven himself, he's been able to, uh, punch the right buttons to, uh, get the most out of these players. DJ. Burns is a matchup nightmare. You've got Michael o'connell who's the, um, the captain in the backcourt and then DJ, uh underneath the basket wolfpack fans and coach Keats believe in this team. He believes that if you shoot more three pointers defend the three point line and win the turnover battle that you're gonna win the game. That is Kevin Keats basketball, Rick Armstrong Wrl News.
