The tears were flowing and so was the Gatorade. I don't know how to put it into words. Um I don't know what more he would want in a national championship. Aaron Matson in UN C beat Northwestern for the national championship. A story too perfect to write. I am still obviously, as you guys know very much learning the whole coaching thing, Matson, the most decorated player in tar heels history takes over for the NCAA S winning as coach at the age of 23 easy for people around or the team or me to allow it to happen where it's the Aaron show and that's the last thing that I want. It's the last thing that is, it's true. This team is it would not have been possible without this group in the house that Karen Shelton built Matson and the heels get it done in a shoot out on the stick of Riley heck and the saves of MVP Maddie Khan. The one thing that Aaron said to me was right when Maddie had that big, she said, just go win a national championship and one of the greatest feelings ever in a symbolic moment, Matson and Shelton embraced after the game 11 national titles and counting the dynasty clearly in good hands. I mean, she's, she's a special person and I know she works so hard for this. I mean, we all work hard as coaches but in her first year she took hard work to another level. I mean, she was 24 seven and I, you know, and I'm, I had to say Aaron, you know, you're gonna burn out, you know, slow down, but she just really, really worked hard in every capacity. Karen Shelton was also 23 when she started coaching the program. So I asked her if she ever had any doubt that Aaron could do the same. She said, quote, I had every confidence in Aaron, she's mature, relatable, knows the game inside out and to see her handle, this transition has been special Casey.
