Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal spoke to the media before the team flew up to New York for games 3 & 4. Staal spoke about the loss of Brett Pesce and how the team can keep momentum rolling
Yeah, it's, um, yeah, obviously the same focus we have, um, from the start, but, um, in a different building in a, in a different environment. So it's always a little more challenging on the road. I, I think, and, um, you know, staying with, uh, what we do and, and, you know, keeping our, their momentum at, at, uh, at a minimum and, um, and find a way to tore out a couple of wins in the, yeah, you need, you need depth, um, all the way through the line and then outside the line for a playoff run that you're gonna run into injuries, obviously a big hole for us. But, um, you know, we've got a very capable, uh, uh, Decor and, and guys like Tony that can step in and, and play well for us. So, um, it's, uh, still a big hole that we're going to fill it in with, uh, uh committee and, but, um, you know, it's, uh, it's always, uh nice to rely on, uh, you know, the depth we have the biggest challenge is when you, when you go on, what are the biggest challenges? Yeah, obviously what we, we like to do is, is play with, to our crowd and play like you, what you saw last game to the momentum and, um, you know, it, it can go the other way obviously against you and it's hard to, it's hard to slow down sometimes. So, um, it's really just trying to, um, keep those momentum swings at a, at a minimum and, and, um, and make sure that, um, you know, when they start getting some, just find ways to, to get it back and, um, and, and grind them down and, and slow it down a little bit and, um, and stay comfortable with, uh, the game that we have, um, in front of us, things got a little at the end of. No, I mean, that's, that's part of it. I mean, obviously they're frustrated directly so it was a tough game for them and, um, I wouldn't expect, uh, too much car from that beyond just the obvious of the physicality. And, um, and what comes, uh, part of the playoffs, Jordan at the end of game two have not like the way you want to win, but how do you take the momentum of a big come back like that and carry it up to New York? Yeah, it's, um, um, you know, obviously it was nice to just kind of sit on it yesterday and, um, you know, I enjoy, obviously a big win but, um, it's probably a good thing, you know, we're we're stepping into a practice here and kind of reset and I know we got AAA big challenge ahead of us, uh, you know, rolling in New York. So, um, it's, um, it's never really about looking in the past and in the series obviously as you know, and, and it's, it's always the next game, the next shift, next play and, um, you know, anything can happen. So we're, we're refocusing again and, um, we're looking to try to take game three.
