Mike. I mean, what does it mean to you to be receiving this honor in your hometown of Chicago? Yeah, it's great. But for the state of North Carolina, I just was texting the Governor Cooper, text me and I told him it's a great Duke Carolina night. Three of the five inductees are Tyler Hansboro, Johnny Dawkins and me. So three out of five. What a great thing for our state. How did this town shape you in your basketball journey? Yeah. Well, my parents and my neighborhood and my teachers, they taught me a work ethic and gave me a good value system and I was lucky to grow up. That's why we honor my mom and Durham with the Emily. I was at your final game first North Carolina. And that quote about being the man in the arena just really stuck with me. I was listening to it again today. What's it like for you now to be out of that arena? No, I'm proud. I mean, I feel like I was the luckiest guy in the world to be coached at my alma mater, West Point for five years and 42 years at North Carol in North Carolina at Duke and in 11 years of those with the US team, so he can't get any luckier than that you've received just about every honor there is. I mean, how can you even put into words what this one means now? Well, it's college, the college basketball hall of Fame to go in with so many of the great players and great coaches from all divisions of college basketball. But tonight is even a little bit more special to go in with the guy who really put our program on his back. Johnny Dawkins. I wouldn't be here if Johnny did not come to Duke, he started the whole thing for us. And last one for me, coach, you know, you were very vocal about AC C and the basketball's importance in it when you were coaching at Duke and a lot has changed in the last year. How do you feel about the trajectory of things that are going on with the conferences? I'm afraid of what's going on with all the conferences. I wish all the conferences would, would play together and act as one and what's good for college sports and not just what's good for, uh, the specific conference that you're in.
