Cary's Adelyn Rosado is one of the best junior golfers in the world. She's fluent beyond her years in golf and is also dedicated to studying her family's Chinese heritage.
Before the masters. There's a kids event called Drive Chip and putt. You get six shots. That's it. And Carrie's Adaline Rosado is going to compete next week. Win or lose. She's made her family proud both here and on the other side of the world practice makes that was perfect. Meet Adeline Rosado. I like to have fun. I like to make new friends, one of the best junior golfers in the world. There we go with her coach Ryan Webb Addie doesn't get rattled very easily. It's like she's speaking a different language now. Keep your hands on the club. Don't change your grip. Twist the for, there you go. Now, take a full swing. Here's your flop shot. Her fluency earned her a spot in the Drive Chip and putt championship at Augusta National after coming up just short last year because I tried three times already and I didn't make it. And this is like the fourth time. So I made that one. That was my goal. She plays like a pro, but she still talks like she's 11 because my mom's like, don't lose your ball mark. I'm like, I'm not gonna lose it and then the next day I lose it. Her parents have made sure to keep things fun. You know, it started with putting, it was uh 10 minutes. Let's go putt and let's get some ice cream. And then it just kind of grew from there and Multilingual Aly's mother Diana is from Taiwan. Yeah, I just asked her, how was your day over here? Uh on the course and then she said, she said she learned a lot. Adeline attends Style Magnet Elementary in Raleigh where she speaks Chinese most of the day and all of the time with their grandparents. Well, it's like a pizza, but it's like a Chinese pizza with a vegetable like no cheese. Um The name is learning about our culture is just as important as conquering the course. My mom says it's really hard to learn. So it takes a lot of practice. Perfect. That's a good one. Aly finished third in the qualifying event last year and she told me she went home, took out all of her stuffed animals and practiced doing an interview. She was really excited to do the interview with me and obviously hopes to get to do another one next week. She's gonna get a lot of practice at that. She will.
