StoryWalks abound across local parks in July

Do your little ones love books and getting outside? Check out these StoryWalks, which involve the laminateed pages of a picture book posted along a short trail or walkway, at local parks across the region.

Crowder County Park

The Wake County park will feature the book "Forest Night, Forest Bright," by Jennifer Ward, in July. Find it on the Outer Loop Trail behind the park's Bird Garden.

Oak View County Park

The park will feature "Julián Is a Mermaid" by Jessica Love through July 31.

Blue Jay Point County Park

The featured book this month is "Eliza and the Dragonfly." It will be posted in the park's meadow from July 17 to Aug. 1.

Historic Yates Mill County Park

The park will showcase "In the Small, Small Pond," by Denise Fleming in July. It starts near the pond boardwalk.

Chapel Hill locations

The town's StoryWalks can be found in Homestead Park, Pritchard Park and the Tanyard Branch Trail at Umstead Park.
