Day 5:

The leaderboard had a shake up after Day 5 of the Big Rock Tournament. Sushi takes the lead with a 484.5lb blue marlin. If the fish hangs on to 1st Place, it’ll be worth $2,769,438.

Chasin' A slid into 2nd Place after Jr. Angler, Carson Moser weighed in a marlin at 479.8lbs.

Dun Rite weighed in a 425.3lb blue marlin, which didn’t make the leaderboard.

C-Student's 470.2lb catch moved down to 3rd Place with a potential payout of $247,175.

255 of 271 boats hit the water on Day 5.

Day 4:

75 of 251 boats were in the water on Day 4 of the Big Rock Tournament in Morehead City. 10 Blue Marlin and 1 sailfish release was recorded.

Several boats captured prizes for their catches.

Widespread captured the Level IX: Non-Sonar Release prize worth $32,229.17

Stream Weaver claimed the Level VIII Daily Release prize worth $44,625. Wave Paver still leads that division with a projected payout of $133,875.

Ocean Lifter raised the stakes in the Level VII Dolphin WTA category after weighing in a 42.9lb. catch, moving them into 2nd Place for the week. They also captured $2,000 in daily prize money.  American Lady brought in a 20.8lb. dolphin earning $1,000.

Marquesa got weigh-ins started with a 50.4lb. wahoo. Their catch earned 1st Place in the daily division, and 2nd Place overall! Power Play's 42.4lb. 'hoo landed in 2nd Place for the daily wahoo prize worth $1,000.

Day 3:

Predator is now in third place after pulling in a 459 pound blue marlin on Wednesday at the Big Rock Tournament in Morehead City.

Sea Wolf brought in a 408.1 pound blue marlin, but the catch wasn't enough to bring the boat on the leader board.

C-Student remains in first place with their 470.2 pound catch from day 2.

Day 2:

Sea Toy boated a 463.7-pound blue marlin on Tuesday at the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament and is in second place for the tournament.

C-Student is still the leader after reeling in a 470.2-pound blue marlin on day one.

Lady Diane also boated a blue marlin on day two, but at 315 pounds, it was well short of the 400-pound minimum to place.

No crew has yet to catch a 500-pound marlin. The first one to do so will earn the Fabulous Fisherman's prize of $739,500.

Michael Jordan's "Catch 23" was one of the 254 of 271 eligible boats to take the water Tuesday but did not reel in a heavy enough marlin or gamefish.

Day 1:

Rough waters kept Michael Jordan's boat out of the water, but it did not stop the crew from the boat C-Student from reeling in a 470.2-pound blue marlin on the first day of 65th annual Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament.

C-Student is the leader among the three crews to boat a blue marlin on day one, but no crew has won the $739,500 prize that comes with being the first to boat a fish of more than 500 pounds. The other two boats, Dancin Outlaw and Wolverine, caught marlins that weighed less than the 400-pound minimum.

Jordan's Catch 23 boat took a lay day while 218 of the 271 eligible boats took the water. All boats must fish four of the six tournament days to be eligible to win.

The tournament concludes Saturday and will hand out a record total purse of $5,835,075.

Jordan has competed in the Big Rock the previous three years and always attracts a large crowd.

In 2020, the Catch 23 team reeled in a 442-pound big blue marlin.

The following year, Jordan’s crew caught a 25-pound dolphin fish. Last year, they caught a 24-pound dolphin.
