Former UNC QB Sam Howell traded to Seattle Seahawks, reports say

The Washington Commanders are trading quarterback Sam Howell to the Seattle Seahawks, according to several reports.
The Seahawks also receive a fourth-round pick (No. 102) and a sixth-round pick (No. 179).
The Commanders will receive a third-round pick (No. 78) and a fifth-round pick (No. 152).
Howell, 23, played in all 17 regular season games for the Commanders in the 2023 season. He is expected to compete with Geno Smith in Seattle.
Drew Lock, who backed up Smith the past two seasons, agreed to a a contract with the New York Giants.
The Commanders selected Howell with the 144th pick in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. Howell played at North Carolina from 2019-2021.
