Water makes up over three quarters of our body and is essential for many body functions. Water helps keep your body’s temperature regulated, cushions joints, gets rid of waste, protects organs, delivers nutrients, and moistens tissues. Your body will need increased water if you are exercising or physically active, sick, or in hot weather. Intaking enough water will help prevent dehydration!
Need help drinking more water? Try these five tips for increased consumption.
* Drink water not only during meals.
* Take a water bottle everywhere you go. If you like cold water, freeze it and let it thaw throughout the day.
* Add fruit or fresh herbs to your glass for added flavor.
* Try sparkling, seltzer, or flavored waters.
* Drink a glass of water while waiting for your coffee in the morning.
