We are returning to North Hills this spring and summer to add to the fun that's already planned as part of its North Hills Kids series!

Our first big event is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 15. It's all free!

North Hills will pull out its big, colorful foam blocks to play with. And we'll bring more fun!

Here's the line-up:

9 a.m.: The big event opens with blocks, drinks, snacks and Sesame Street activity sheets for the kids. The Wake County Sheriff's Office will offer free child identification cards all morning.

Having fun at the Go Ask Mom North Hills event!
9:30 a.m.: Stroller Strides Midtown Raleigh offers a free class for moms and their stroller-riding kids. This is a great hour-long workout for moms. It's designed for all fitness levels and incorporates little activities for the kids too. If you're interested in the class, click here to register. UPDATE: Stroller Strides also is adding a 9 a.m. class that morning!
10 a.m. to noon: Artspace, the downtown Raleigh art gallery with a pop-up location in North Hills right now, will provide a free craft. Kids will make heart-shaped bookmarks!
10 a.m. to noon: Lil' Chef will stop by for a fun cookie decorating activity and raffle.
9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (note the new time): The Chick-fil-A cow stops by for a visit!
Posing for pictures with First In Fire Comapany
10:30 a.m.: First In Fire Company will bring out its fire truck for kids to explore. The company, owned by a local dad, rents out the truck for parties.
11 a.m.: Raleigh mom Rissi Palmer, who once hit the country charts and opened for the likes of Taylor Swift, Sawyer Brown and Sarah Evans, will perform songs from her new family album "Best Day Ever!" Read more about Palmer in this earlier post.
Singer songwriter Rissi Palmer with daughter Grace, who inspired the songs on Palmer's new family album "Best Day Ever."
We also will be collecting diapers for The Diaper Train, a local group that distributes the diapers to needy families in Wake County. Please consider dropping off a box of diapers and even opened packages of diapers in sizes that your kids are too big for.

And mark your calendars: We'll be back at North Hills for two more events - Wednesday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 31!

I hope to see you there!
