Artspace, which is based at City Market in downtown Raleigh, will open its first-ever Artspace Pop Up in North Hills on Thursday.

The temporary gallery will take over empty retail space at North Hills. It will be there from Thursday to June 29. Hours will be 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturdays. Admission is free and open to the public.

The space will include an opportunity to meet with professional artists, who will be working on their pieces, conducting demonstrations, exhibiting and selling their work. There also will be make-and-take art activities and several Saturday classes for kids.

The space will be at 4421-103B Six Forks Rd. An opening reception is 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday, with some food and local musics.

I always have a fun time walking through Artspace with my kids. I look forward to checking out their pop up!
