RALEIGH, N.C. — You can now help victims of Hurricane Florence when you buy your N.C. State Fair tickets.

Over the weekend, the fair activated a donation button through online ticket purchasing site Etix. Now, as you buy your fair tickets, you also can give to families who are recovering form the hurricane, which packed a devastating blow on parts of North Carolina. Donations are not subject to fees. And 100 percent of your donation will be forwarded to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina.

Fairgoers also can help out the Food Bank's efforts by attending the State Fair on Thursday, October 18, and participating in Food Lion Hunger Relief Day. When you bring five cans of Food Lion brand canned food, you'll receive free admission to the fair.

The N.C. State Fair is Oct. 11 to Oct. 21 at the state fairgrounds in west Raleigh.

To get your tickets to the fair - and support Florence victims - go to the State Fair's ticket page.
