The North Carolina State Fair runs Oct. 17-27, 2019, at the N.C. State Fairgrounds.

New attractions and food

There are new rides and attractions this year, including the new State Fair SkyGazer, a 155-foot-tall Ferris wheel. It is the tallest ride ever brought to the fair.

Reeses Donuts, pumpkin spice corn and a variety of other new items are headed to the fair this year.

Parking

Free parking is available on State Fair, Carter-Finley Football Stadium and PNC Arena properties. Fairgoers are encouraged to take Wade Avenue to the Edwards Mill Extension to park in these lots. There may be exceptions if events are scheduled at Carter-Finley or PNC Arena. Recreational vehicles are not allowed to remain in the parking spaces managed by the State Fair between the hours of midnight and 8 a.m.

Neighboring Private Lots: During the Fair, neighboring residents frequently convert parts of their property to small parking lots. This is not controlled by the State Fair.

Shuttle options: The N.C. State Fair offers free off-site parking at the corner of Edwards Mill and Reedy Creek (4501 Reedy Creek Road, Raleigh) with free shuttles transporting you a spot just across from Gate 8 on Trinity Road. Shuttles will run continuously. Drop off and pick up will be at Gate B Carter Finley Stadium. Amenities on site will include a covered waiting area, portable restroom facilities and drink machines. The Reedy Creek parking hours are Thursday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m. until one hour after gates close; and Friday, Oct. 18 - Sunday, Oct. 27: 8 a.m. until one hour after gates close.

Park and Ride - Park and Ride buses will drop you off at Gate 1 on Hillsborough Street. When you are ready to leave, just head back to the Gate 1 transit zone to head back to your car. Get more info on Go Raleigh, Go Durham and Go Triangle shuttle options.
