Historic Yates Mill County Park just south of Raleigh is hosting a special program for homeschoolers.
It's from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 22. Participants will learn all about Yates Mill and its agricultural history. The day includes a hands-on program about grains, an interactive tour of the historic mill and a scavenger hunt.
Adult participation is required and so is pre-registration. It's best for kids ages 6 to 12. The fee is $5 per person. For details and to register, call 919-856-6675.
Yates Mill is a great park with an interesting indoor education area with exhibits, the historic mill and some nice open space. See my earlier post and review of it by clicking here.
