This report reflects the results of a nationally representative online survey of over 480 people conducted from Feb. 5 to Feb. 12, 2018.
What would you do for a tax-free future?
- 27 percent would move to a different country
- 24 percent would get an "IRS" tattoo
- 22 percent would switch political parties
What do you like more than the IRS?
- In-laws (29 percent)
- Cold showers (13 percent)
- Traffic jams (9 percent)
Is the IRS necessary?
- There's lots of room for improvement (52 percent)
- I hate it, but we need it (18 percent)
- It should be abolished (13 percent)
- They're doing a fine job (13 percent)
- They're doing a great job (4 percent)
How do you feel about accountants?
- They help a good deal (22 percent)
- They are sometimes helpful (54 percent)
- They are overpriced (21 percent)
- They're a scam (3 percent)
What would you rather do than your taxes?
- Go to jury duty (51 percent)
- Miss a flight (27 percent)
