The North Forest Hills Park playground in Chapel Hill is closed because of an infestation of solitary bees.
But, instead of getting rid of the bees, town staff plan on letting them stay to play. A short video from the town show swarms of the bees buzzing underneath the park's play structure.
"These are very beneficial insects," writes Bill Webster, park planning and development manager in Chapel Hill, in an email. "We intend to let them live through their life cycle and suggest that you use another playground if you normally use the North Forest Play Area."
