CONCORD, N.C. — Giant photorealistic dinosaurs from the Jurassic Quest Drive Thru, dubbed the nation's largest touring dinosaur exhibit, will be on view at the Charlotte Motor Speedway from Feb. 12 to Feb. 21.

According to a press release, the event will take place at the outdoor parking area of the speedway's zMAX Dragway and feature 70 moving and life-like dinosaurs, including a 50-foot-long Megalodon and a 50-foot-long Spinosarus.

"Jurassic Quest's herd of animatronic dinos are displayed in realistic scenes that allow guests to experience them roaring and moving as they drive through the tour," according to the release.

Jurassic Quest Drive Thru opened in mid-July with stops in New York, Los Angeles, San Diego, Boston, Dallas, Tampa and Houston, among other places. More than 300,000 vehicles and 1.5 million people have attended. Tickets are $49 per vehicle, with eight people or less, and include an online audio tour in English or Spanish with more information about what you're seeing on your "dinosaur safari."

In addition to the dinosaur exhibits, there will be opportunities to "visit with baby dinosaurs" and photo opportunities, according to the press release. The event is designed for all ages and not intended to be scary.

Because of COVID, guests are asked to remain in their vehicles and wear masks when they get out in the allowed areas. Visitors are not allowed to ride in truck beds. Social distancing will be required. And areas will be sanitized regularly during the event. Masks also are required for employees.

More information is on the Jurassic Quest website. It's open Feb. 12 to Feb. 21, except Feb. 15 and Feb. 16 when it will be closed. Hours vary, but typically run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. or 9 p.m. most days. The press release says the event has sold out elsewhere, so it may be best to get your tickets soon than later. The Speedway is just over two hours from Raleigh.
