Police identify 26-year-old man killed in Fayetteville shooting

A man was shot and killed Tuesday night in Fayetteville.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A man was shot and killed Tuesday night in Fayetteville.

Officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Slater Avenue just after 9:30 p.m.

The man, Damian R. Lee, died from his injuries at the hospital. Lee was 26 years old.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation by the department’s homicide unit.

WRAL News is working to gather more information.

The shooting was not related to a second overnight shooting in Fayetteville, when multiple shots were fired at a car, causing it to crash and run off the road. One person inside the car died.
