Friday marks 70 years for the TODAY show on NBC.

TODAY debuted on NBC Jan. 14, 1952. It was the first program of its kind to blend national news headlines, interviews, lifestyle features and other lighter stories.

WRAL anchor Jeff Hogan spoke with Hoda Kotb about her time as anchor and the lasting legacy of the show. She said it goes beyond who is sitting at the anchor desk.

Friday marks 70 years for the TODAY show on NBC.

"The TODAY show isn't about anybody, and it never has been ... and everyone together makes this place what it is," she said.

TODAY will celebrate the anniversary with a very special broadcast on Friday at 7 a.m. by looking back at the last 70 years.

You can watch TODAY at 7 a.m. on weekday mornings on WRAL.
