RALEIGH, N.C. — It's spring and more events are being added to the calendar. Here's a look at a few you should check out:

Food and Drink

Dine Out Downtown (Downtown Raleigh)- Enjoy dinner from your favorite downtown Raleigh restaurants as you dine outdoors on closed streets and listen to live music by local musicians. This event runs April through June every Saturday night. Guests must wear masks and practice social distancing.
Carolina Brewery's Shrimp Boil and Costero Tapping Party (Carolina Brewery & Grill (Pittsboro), 120 Lowes Drive Ste 100, Pittsboro) - Carolina Brewery is hosting a shrimp boil and tapping party for its newest release Costero Mexican Lager on April 10 from noon to 11 p.m.
St. Roch Hosts Lawrence Barbeque for Pop Up (St. Roch Fine Oysters and Bar, 223 S Wilmington St, Raleigh) - St. Roch Fine Oysters and Bar will be hosting a one-night only menu previewing dishes from Chef Jake Wood's Lawrence Barbecue. This isn't a ticketed dinner. Guests can order from the menu for curbside pick-up or in-person dining.
HerbFest 2021 (The Cotton Company, 306 S. White St., Wake Forest) - The Cotton Company in downtown Wake Forest will host this festival on April 30 and May 1 featuring Certified organic, non-GMO, heritage/heirloom varieties of herbs, vegetables, tomatoes, peppers and more.

Performances and Movies

"The Last Five Years" with the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra (Louise "Scotty" Stephenson Amphitheatre at Raleigh Little Theatre, 301 Pogue Street, Raleigh) - Join Raleigh Little Theatre and the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra for an outdoor concert-style performance of Jason Robert Brown's Drama Desk award-winner The Last Five Years, presented in RLT's Louise "Scottie" Stephenson Amphitheatre April 9-11 and 16-18.
PlayMakers presents: "Akeelah and the Bee" (PlayMakers Repertory Company, 120 Country Club Rd, Chapel Hill) - PlayMakers presents this story of a girl and her passion for words. See it April 1-18 at Paul Green Theatre.
Drive-In Theater Tour Featuring Zach Williams, Mac Powell and CAIN (Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre, 3336 Raleigh Road, Henderson) - Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre will be hosting this live concert on April 11. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. and the show will start at dusk. Tickets start at $88 per car.
Friday Favorites with NC Symphony: Music from the Movies (streaming) - Relive your favorite classical music moments in film history, including music from Amadeus, Harry Potter, Platoon, The Lord of the Rings, The Godfather, Psycho and more on April 9 during this streaming event with the North Carolina Symphony.

More Spring Fun

Durham church to drop 10,000 eggs from helicopter - Thousands of Easter eggs will be falling from the sky on April 3 as part of a Durham church's Easter celebration.
Spring Break Escape (Salem Street, Apex) - Hop around Apex to solve puzzles posted at Apex public school campuses. Choose one region of six schools or solve all 18 to boost your chances at winning prizes including a gift card to Whole Brain Escape. All gameplay takes place outside to allow for social distancing. Puzzles will be available March 27 to April 11.
8 ways to celebrate Easter with Raleigh Parks - Easter is April 4 this year, and Raleigh Parks has a bunch of activities planned to help families celebrate.
Yoga in the Park (Dorothea Dix Park - Williams Field, 2105 Umstead Dr, Raleigh) - Enjoy the nature and tranquility of Dix Park with a yoga class to increase strength and flexibility. Free classes are held Monday and Wednesdays at 6 p.m.
Tai Chi at the Park (Dorothea Dix Park - Williams Field, 2105 Umstead Dr, Raleigh) - Find your inner calm and balance with Tai Chi in beautiful Dix Park every Thursday at 6 p.m.
Southern Ideal Home Show (NC State Fairgrounds) - Following nearly a year's hiatus because of Covid 19, the Southern Ideal Home Show returns to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds for its spring edition April 9-11. Masks will be required and hand sanitizer stations will be set up. The show will also feature a food truck rally with socially distanced seating.
