It's a bird, it's a plane, it's an Easter egg? Durham church to drop 10,000 eggs from helicopter

Thousands of Easter eggs will be falling from the sky on April 3 as part of a Durham church's Easter celebration.

DURHAM, N.C. — Thousands of Easter eggs will be falling from the sky on April 3 as part of a Durham church's Easter celebration.

During EGGstravaganza, 10,000 Easter eggs, packed full of candy, will be dropped on the church's Durham campus from a helicopter for kids to pick up. The event is 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., April 3, at newhope church, 7619 Fayetteville Rd., Durham. The afternoon also includes music, games and crafts. It's free.

If you'd like, you can then stick around for newhope's first Easter service, which will immediately follow the egg hunt at 5 p.m. More information is on the church's Facebook page.
