Easter is April 4 this year, and Raleigh Parks has a bunch of activities planned to help families celebrate. While there aren't any massive egg hunts that draw hundreds to a park, there are still plenty of ways to have some seasonal fun with all of the appropriate COVID safety measures.

Here's what's scheduled, according to the city. For more information, including registration details and addresses, head to the city's website. (And definitely note where registration is reuqired.)

Egg-stra Special Egg Hunts

From March 19 to April 5, from dawn to dusk, daily, head over to one of four different community centers — Abbotts Creek, Biltmore Hills, Pullen or Tarboro Road —  to search for giant wooden eggs that are hidden around the park. When you get there, pick up a special sheet at the front door of the center. Then count up the wooden eggs and submit your answer online for a special price. An online link for answer submissions will go live on March 19. Registration is not required.

Brier Creek Drive Thru Egg Hunt

During four different time slots on March 27, head over to Brier Creek Community Center for this drive-through egg hunt. At the end, you can pick up a goodie bag to take home. Registration for this one is required.

Egg Hunt Scramble at Anderson Point Park

Pre-register (which is required) for this afternoon event on March 24 at Anderson Point Park. You can have a socially distanced bunny photo visit and take home a craft project and some other treats.

Glow in the Dark Egg-stravaganza

Carolina Pines Park will host an evening drive-through event that involves spotting glowing eggs from your car as you drive through. Families also can compete in a holiday-themed game of Kahoot It and will receive a gift bag at the end. Registration is not required for this one. It's 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., March 26.

Egg-citing Egg Hunt

From March 27 to April 4, Lions Park will host a self-guided egg hunt for families. The first 75 people to register will get an egg hunt tote bag with several toys and goodies and a dozen plastic eggs to host your own egg hunt at home. You need to register for this one.

Hoppening Shell-ebration Egg Hunt

On March 27, head to Roberts Park for a search-and-find egg hunt where you'll look for letters and unscramble a hidden message. Participants also will take home a kit with prizes and pre-stuffed eggs. Pre-registration is not required, but encouraged.

The Great Eggscape Egg Hunt

From 10 a.m. to noon, March 27, at Laurel Hills Park, visitors can search around the park for missing eggs. Clues will be set up at different stations with activities throughout the park. And egg finders will go home with a box with activities.

Egg Hunt Kit Pickup

Pick up egg hunt kits from Abbotts Creek Community Center from 10 a.m. to noon, March 27. Each kit comes with plastic eggs, prizes and crafts. Pre-registration is not required, but requested.

Again, more information about each of these events and programs, including how to register, is on the city's website.
