Woman accused of stealing former employer's credit card

Posted January 15, 2013

— A Mount Olive woman is accused of stealing her former boss’s credit card and using it to shop at Wal-Mart, the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday.

Investigators said they were reviewing purchase activity on a credit card that was reported stolen and found the card had been used about five times at area Wal-Mart stores. Security video from the stores showed the same woman using the card each time, police said.

The business owner who reported the stolen card positively identified the suspect from the video as Jessica Leigh Swinson, 30, of the 800 block of Norwood Ezell Road. Swinson was the business owner’s former secretary, police said.

She was charged with unlawful obtaining credit card, financial card fraud and obtaining property by false pretense. She was held on a $7,500 secured bond.

My house has been burglarized 3 times - no more since I keep a big German Sheperd and an alarm system...I know what it feels like to have something stolen from me. It feels awful and things I worked hard for - bought and paid cash for - are with someone else now. The best thing to happen to her is for someone to do the same to her and watch her squirm to FIX it.

Hey Bubba, lets say she stole from you...Not so trivial any more is it??

I had someone get ahold of my AMEX card and get 4k off of it. It was a incredible hassle to deal with, between the Police and the store where the money orders were purchased. AMEX was great to deal with.

    Beyond the crime?? Not even...

Wow, lets shame her far beyound the crime.

Yes. Far too many people are no longer shamed by doing bad things. Your comment trivializes her crime. She IS a thief. She committed robbery for all practical purposes.
