The driver of a tractor-trailer died Tuesday when his rig overturned near Robbins, authorities said.

The accident happened about 3:30 p.m. on N.C. Highway 24/27, near Marley Road and Robbins Crossroads in Moore County.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. The driver’s name and cause of the crash was not immediately released.

The AberdeenTimes.com reported that the driver had to be extricated from the tractor-trailer, which came to rest on its side. A helicopter arrived to transport the man, but he was declared dead at the scene, according to the article.

A special team was called to clean up a large amount of diesel that spilled from the truck.

That,knelson23 is the problem with the news media especially WRAL! They do not want to take the time to do thorough research on the story they are reporting. If you are so lazy you don't want to spend time on the facts at least look at the photo's you lazy slugs! There are three photo's of the wreckage there is your evidence the vehicle is not a tractor-trailer. Come on people do your jobs for once and put some passion into it instead of just collecting a pay check.

First let me start off by giving the drivers family my Prayers and condolences. As a fellow trucker myself I cant imagine what the family is going through right now. And to correct the story as ir state's a tractor trailer overturned. It actually was not a tractor trailer. Just a straight truck, similar to a moving truck.

Prayers and condolences to this man's family and friends.
