Raleigh man accused of robbing bank

RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh man is accused of robbing a bank on Capital Boulevard on Monday afternoon. 

Michael Orlando Downey, 43, was arrested on Tuesday. He was held under a $50,000 bond in the Wake County jail. 

Around 4:30 p.m. Monday, police said a man entered the Bank of America, located at 5005 Capital Blvd., passed a note to a teller and implied that he had a weapon. After the teller complied with the note’s demands, the man fled the bank on foot.
