Raleigh police seek bank robber

Police released surveillance images of a man who robbed a bank on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh Monday afternoon in the hopes that someone from the public will recognize him and come forward.

Police released surveillance images of a man who robbed a bank on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh Monday afternoon in the hopes that someone from the public will recognize him and come forward.

At about 4:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Bank of America, at 5005 Capital Boulevard, where tellers said a man approached the counter, passed a note to a teller demanding money and implied that he was armed.

The man fled the bank on foot.

He is described as an older black man with a goatee and salt-and-pepper hair. He stands about 5 feet 10 inches tall and was wearing a gray T-shirt with blue stripes on the sleeves and red lettering, a black-brimmed, white baseball cap with a yellow logo and dark-colored pants.
