Pedestrian killed, man faces DWI charge

A Fayetteville man has been charged with driving while impaired after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fayetteville man has been charged with driving while impaired after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle early Sunday.

Police said that Jason Allan Phillips, 27, of Oakview Drive, was driving a 2007 Dodge vehicle that hit a man crossing Bragg Boulevard, at Blue Street, around 2:40 a.m.

The identity of the deceased hasn't been released, pending notification of next of kin.

In addition to DWI, Phillips was charged with driving with a revoked license.

Police were continuing to investigate the wreck.
