Autopsy: Wake man found in freezer was beaten to death
A Wake County man discovered dead in the freezer of his home in October died of blows to the head, according to an autopsy report released Wednesday.

The decapitated body of David Ruben Green Jr., 52, was found Oct. 6 in a freezer at his Ray Road home, more than a month after he had been reported missing. The entire freezer was delivered to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Search warrants filed in the case indicate that he might have been dead since January 2009.
The autopsy report lists the cause of death as blunt force head injuries. The medical examiner also noted that "a cutting tool or saw" was used to behead Green and that there were numerous lacerations around his knees to suggest that someone tried to dismember him after he was killed.
Green’s long-time girlfriend, Wendy Edmond Green, and children Alexis Morgan Green, 17, and David Ruben Green III, 15, have each been charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Authorities haven’t offered a motive for the killing but indicated in search warrants that Wendy Green used her boyfriend’s credit cards and asked his family for money.
