NAACP demands transparency in replacement of UNC President

Posted May 24, 2016

— The North Carolina NAACP Youth and College Division requested records related to the hiring of UNC President Margaret Spellings in a news conference Tuesday morning.

Representatives say they want transparency regarding former President Thomas Ross' resignation and Spellings' selection as his replacement. The UNC System forced Ross out of his role in January 2015.

The NAACP accuses the system of accelerating Ross' resignation and paying him to keep quiet about it. They also say that the university system recruited Spellings before Ross announced he was leaving.

The new request includes nine points asking for different information, including Spellings' relationship with the Bush family.

Simple response from UNC - "Thank you for your divisive interest in our internal administrative operations. As this is a personnel matter with related PII (Personally Identifiable Information) - we will not provide further information or comment to your organization. Sincerely, UNC.

I thought Kevin Hill was easy to figure out. He gave Tata an A- and then bowed to political pressure and helped to fire him. Liberal cronyism at its worst.

Is this Tony Tata all over again.
Because Spelling has ties with the Bush family?
Because Tony Tata was a Fox News contributor?
Kevin Hill and his lib buddies fired Tata due to all the "tumultuous" changes Tata implemented. Said they could not afford his all male, all female classroom experiment.
Yet all of Tata's structure is STILL there!
Except for new schools opening up, the neighborhood school is STILL there. The all male all female classrooms are STILL going.
Every time the libs have tried to change things they have been beaten back. Had to go back to the Tata districting. Where has Rev Barber been the last three years. I doubt the zip-tie crowd Rev Barber embraces will never be smart enough to figure out his carnival act. That includes Kevin Hill and the Wake County School board.
