Driver in Early Morning Accident Charged with DWI

According to the police report, Tony Garcia, of 410 Parnell Dr. in Raleigh, was westbound on New Bern when the car he was driving drifted off the road into a ditch, into the pole then rolled before coming to rest at the side of the road.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A one-vehicle wreck at the intersection of New Bern Avenue and Clarendon Crescent Road early Thursday damaged a utility pole and detoured traffic.

According to the police report, Tony Garcia, of 410 Parnell Dr. in Raleigh, was westbound on New Bern when the car he was driving drifted off the road into a ditch, into the pole then rolled before coming to rest at the side of the road.

Garcia was charged with DWI, driving without a license, property damage and failure to report an accident.

As a result of the crash, inbound New Bern Avenue traffic was detoured. All lanes were reopened at about 3:45 p.m.
