WILSON COUNTY, N.C. — Residents in the Southwest Water District in Wilson County were advised to boil water before using it for cooking, drinking, brushing teeth or washing hands.

The county issued a warning Wednesday that tests found high levels of coliform bacteria. Coliform is an indication that that other, potentially harmful, bacteria may be present.

Boiling for one minute should be enough to kill any dangerous organisms, officials said.
