Wegmans grocery store in Holly Springs approved by Town Council
On April 16, the Holly Springs Town Council approved a plan for a new Wegmans grocery store and a Lowe's Home Improvement Store and Garden Center in Holly Springs. Read on for the details including store size and location.
Posted — UpdatedAccording to the Town of Holly Springs website, at the April 16 meeting, "the Holly Springs Town Council approved a development plan for a 138,504 square foot Lowe’s Home Improvement Store and Garden Center, and a 99,000 square foot Wegmans grocery store, proposed near the intersection of N.C. 55 and Ralph Stephens Road, subject to finalization of greenway location.
As part of the project, the developer will widen Ralph Stephens Road and Wildwood Farm Way, construct a superstreet intersection on the N.C. 55 Bypass near the development, and install a traffic signal at the Ralph Stephens Road and Wildwood Farm Way intersection, at completion of the developments."
Back in February, there was speculation that the plans submitted to the Town of Holly Springs could be a Wegmans and that has now been confirmed.
Wegmans is set to make their North Carolina debut when the new Wegmans store in Raleigh opens on September 29, 2019. The store will be located at the Midtown East Shopping Center on Wake Forest Road near the beltline.
In addition to the Holly Springs location and the Raleigh location, additional Wegmans grocery stores have been announced in Cary (with 2 locations), Chapel Hill and Wake Forest.
