Live music

May 12: Stevie Nicks - See this music legend on stage at PNC Arena on May 12.
May 12 and 13: Pitbull - See Pitbull on stage at Booth Amphitheatre on May 12 and 13.
May 12: That Station's 5th Anniversary Party - Our friends at That Station are celebrating their 5th anniversary with a party at Lincoln Theatre Friday night with Americana band The Nude Party. Tickets are $19.50 in advance and $25 at the door.
May 13: Pan American Symphony Orchestra: Tango of the Americas - Enjoy live music and world class tango dancers on stage at Fletcher Opera Theater on Saturday night.
Through May 14: Moulin Rouge! The Musical - Pop the champagne, Moulin Rouge! The Musical is the winner of 10 Tony Awards — including Best Musical! This show has so many songs and lots of mashups! See it on stage May 3-14 at DPAC.

Festivals

May 12-13: Longleaf Film Festival - The North Carolina Museum of History will host this festival which highlights independent films with a North Carolina connection. The festival is free to attend.
May 13: Morrisville SpringFest - The Town of Morrisvile hosts this event from 4 to 8 p.m. on Town Hall Drive. The street will be shut down for food trucks, entertainment, games and rides. Admission is free.
May 14: Earth to Raleigh: A Mother's Day Festival - RUMAH and Climate Action NC are hosting this event on Sunday featuring an artist market with more than 20 local vendors, live music and a community chalk art mural featuring Mother Earth and local pollinators. There will also be art activities like make-your-own cyanotype prints using the power of the sun. The event is free to attend and family-friendly.

Family fun

May 12: The LEGO Movie in Moore Square - Enjoy a free screening of this family favorite in Moore Square on Friday night starting at dusk. The series is free and open to the public. There will be food on site for purchase. This screening was original scheduled for April but was moved due to inclement weather.
May 12: Mother and Me Sneaker Ball - Mothers, grandmothers and children are invited to get dressed in their best semi-formal wear and their coolest sneakers for an evening of music, dancing, contest, crafts, food, and games at Roberts Park in Raleigh on Friday, May 12. It is $10 per person and you must register online.
May 12: Family Friendly Flicks - Thor: Love and Thunder - Head to Garner for a free outdoor screening of this movie Friday night at 8:30 p.m. at the Garner Recreation Center. Concessions will be available for purchase.
May 12: A Sensory-Friendly Carnival Extravaganza - Bierman Autism Center of Cary is hosting a free sensory-friendly carnival! Unleash your inner acrobat, so prepare for an afternoon of carnival fun. Gather your friends, neighbors, and loved ones for an unforgettable experience open to all community members.
May 13: Mother's Day Dance: Put on your dancing shoes and move to the beats of the latest and greatest music hits. Kids can enjoy a free face painting station too! This event is at Fortnight Brewing Company and tickets are $5 (moms get in free!).
May 12: Mill Stuffy Sleepover - Calling all young millers! Bring a stuffed animal, doll, or action figure for a toy sleepover in our historic grist mill at West Point on the Eno River. Participants and their stuffies will enjoy stories and treats before children tuck their toys in for the night. Children will return the next morning to claim their toy, eat cornmeal pancakes, and play some historic games. Registration is required. Guardians must remain with their children during both parts of the program.
May 13: Family Saturday Series - Catch the bluegrass bug! Tapping feet, clapping hands, call-response, and sing-along songs all add to the singing of this dynamic father-son duo! Slippery Hill invites you to join them on a journey through the multicultural sounds and instruments from around the world that make up the beautiful tapestry that is North Carolina folk music at the Carolina Theatre in Durham. Tickets are just $5.
May 13: Wild About Nature - Holly Springs is going wild with this free family nature event. Learn, watch, and play alongside animals from around the world and learn about conservation efforts from experts and local leaders. Wild About Nature is held at the Sugg Farm and traditionally includes: live animals, music, games and givaways.
May 13: U-Pick Flowers Opening Day at Firefly Farm - Pick mom the perfect bouquet for Mother's Day! Firefly farm is in Hillsborough. Organizers say you will be able to harvest enough flowers to make several arrangements. Once you have finished picking flowers, return to the barn where they will wrap up your flowers for the trip home. Tickets are $20 per family.
May 13: Montrose Gardens Spring Open Day - Visit this special garden in Hillsborough on Saturday, May 13, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Enjoy a colorful display of spring blooms including jewel-toned poppies, larkspur, nigella, and many roses. The specialty nursery will be open with plants for sale. Take advantage of this special day as the garden is only open for limited tours a few months of the year.
May 13: K-Pop Party - The Wake County Library System is hosting two K-Pop parties Saturday afternoon. Get crafty and hang out with others that share a similar love for all things K-Pop. There will be a dance party, crafting stations, fun snacks, a DIY Boba station, and much more! No prior K-Pop knowledge required! The parties will take place at the North Regional Library and the Green Road Community Library in Raleigh.
May 13: Youth Fishing Rodeo - The Fishing Rodeo is an annual community event in Hillsborough intended to expose children to the joy of fishing. Bring your own pole or borrow one of ours (limited availability). Bait worms will be provided. Live bait only. Prizes will be awarded for the following: Most creative hat, first fish caught, shortest fish, and biggest fish. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. followed by fishing, a free hot dog lunch and award ceremony. Ages: 3 to 15-years-old.
May 13: Hope Mills Family Funday - Family Funday in Hope Mills is this Saturday. Enjoy food trucks, beer garden, music, vendors, games and a Kids Zone with petting zoo, face painting, bouncy houses and bubble stations!
May 14: Marvel-ous Movie Series: Captain Marvel - Enjoy a free afternoon movie at the North Regional Library in Raleigh. This movie is rated PG-13.

May 13: 2023 AIDS Walk & 5K Run - This run is being held at William Peace University on Saturday morning. Funds help support communities impacted by HIV/AIDS through compassionate and non-judgmental prevention, support services, and connection to care.
May 13: Bored Teachers Comedy Tour - The biggest entertainment platform for teachers in the world, Bored Teachers presents its first-ever comedy tour with its funniest teacher-comedians. See them on stage Saturday night at Carolina Theatre of Durham.
May 14: Mother's Day Brunch Experience - After a 5 year hiatus, The Cloth Mill is bringing back its Mother's Day Brunch with a buffet from Rocky Top Catering, a champagne and Bloody Mary bar, live music and a create your own flower bouquet bar. Ticket prices range from $45 to $95.
