Lots of festivals happening this weekend, plus a chance to help out those affected by last month's explosion in Durham.

There are a lot of festivals happening this weekend!

Festivals

Artsplosure (Fayetteville Street, Raleigh) - This Raleigh arts festival celebrates its 40th year this weekend. Activities include an art market, children's zone and music.

Got to Be NC Festival (North Carolina State Fairgrounds, 1025 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh) - Head to the North Carolina State Fairgrounds this weekend for this pre-cursor to the N.C. State Fair. There will be carnival rides, fireworks and exhibits.
Spring Fling at Dix Park (Dorothea Dix Park, 2105 Umstead Drive, Raleigh) - Get ready for a fun-filled afternoon that celebrates the kid in all of us. This adults-only field day and egg hunt is Saturday at Dix Park. The egg hunt was originally scheduled for April 13 but was moved to May 18 due to weather.

Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival (Rock Quarry Park, 701 Stadium Drive, Durham) - This festival is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. This year's festival is Saturday at Rock Quarry Park and features music, arts and crafts and more fun.
Summer Fest (The Glass Jug, 5410 Highway 55, Durham) - Head to the Glass Jug on Saturday for a day filled with music, food and games.
Durham Blues and Brews Festival (Durham Central Park, 502 Foster Street, Durham) - This fifth annual festival is Saturday at Durham Central Park. There will be live music and samples from more than 20 North Carolina breweries.
Smoke, Wine and Brew Fest (Golden Belt, 807 East Main Street, Durham) - This festival will feature cigars, local and regional wine, brews from local breweries, music and food trucks on Saturday in the Golden Belt District.

Bloom Fest (140 West Franklin Street Plaza, 140 West Franklin Street, Chapel Hill) - Celebrate all things spring with flowers, gardens, butterflies, shows, arts, crafts, treats and more at this event in downtown Chapel Hill on Sunday.

Help others

Mama Dip Share the Love Sunday Supper (Carrboro Century Center, 100 N. Greensboro St., Carrboro) - This special event will help celebrate the life of Mildred "Mama Dip" Council, who died last year. Enjoy a Sunday Supper spread just like Mama used to make and help raise funds for the local nonprofit Table. The dinner starts at 4 p.m. at the Carrboro Century Center.
Dunkin' for Durham (Transfer Co. Food Hall , 500 East Davie Street, Raleigh) - Head to Transfer Co. Food Hall on Sunday for this fundraiser to raise money for restaurant workers impacted by the gas explosion in Durham last month. The benefit will include food samples, DJs, bands and a dunking booth.

Foodie fun and one birthday bash

4th Annual Glenwood South Wing Fling 2019 (Raleigh Beer Garden , 614 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh) - Head to Raleigh Beer Garden on Saturday for this annual event featuring wings from local restaurants and live music. Admission is $20 and includes two wings from each venue.
Compass Rose 4 Year Anniversary Bash (Compass Rose Brewery, 3201 Northside Drive, Raleigh) - This brewery is celebrating its four year anniversary with a party on Saturday.
Durham Bulls: Wool E's Birthday (Durham Bulls Athletic Park, 409 Blackwell St., Durham) - The Durham Bulls celebrate Wool E.'s birthday on Sunday at the ballpark.

Chelsea Handler's Sit-Down Comedy Tour (Durham Performing Arts Center, 123 Vivian Street, Durham) - The comic brings her comedy tour to Durham Performing Arts Center Saturday.
Carol Burnett: "An Evening Of Laughter and Reflection" (Durham Performing Arts Center, 123 Vivian Street, Durham) - Enjoy an evening with Carol Burnett where the audience gets to ask the questions. The award-winning actress and best-selling author will be at DPAC Friday night.
Special Event: Jon Lovitz (Goodnight's Comedy Club/The Grille at Goodnight's, 861 W. Morgan Street, Raleigh) - The former SNL cast member will be performing Saturday at Goodnight's Comedy Club.
Biz Markie - 80's vs. 90's (The Ritz, 2820 Industrial Drive, Raleigh) - The legendary Biz Markie brings his 80s vs. 90s dance party to The Ritz Saturday night.
Carolina Ballet Presents Swan Lake
Carolina Ballet Presents Swan Lake (Raleigh Memorial Auditorium, 2 E. South Street, Raleigh) - The ballet is closing out its 21st season with one of the most popular story ballets of all time. See them on stage Saturday and Sunday at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium.
