RALEIGH, N.C. — Historic Oak View County Park has a special park pack for visitors on the autism spectrum and their caregivers.

The My Oak View Park Pack can be borrowed at any time during the park's operating hours, according to its monthly newsletter. It includes a make-your-own visual schedule, maps, sensory-seeking toys, noise-muffling headphones and suggestions for making your visit an enjoyable experience.

Online, you also can find social narratives for a park visit, a history hike and more. For example, you'll find details about quiet walking trails and when the park's popular Farmer's Corner play area is quieter.

Check out Oak View's website for details.

The 27-acre park features a 19th-century historic farmstead, lots of hands-on activities for kids and goats and chickens. It's at 4028 Carya Dr., Raleigh.
