Tickets for the Museum of Life and Science's Pumpkin Patch Express go on sale next week for members first, then the general public.

The popular event, which runs on Saturdays and Sundays from Oct. 4 to Oct. 26, includes a ride on the museum's Ellerbe Creek Railway to the museum's pumpkin patch. There, you can pick a pumpkin to decorate and take home. There also are crafts and other carnival games before returning to the station.

Once you're done, you can spend the rest of the day exploring the museum.

The event is a fundraiser for the Durham museum. Tickets are $20 for the general public. That includes admission to the museum, which is usually $10 for kids ages 3 to 12 and $14 for adults.

Members get first dibs on tickets. Tickets for the general public go on sale Sept. 5. Check the museum's website for ticket information.
