A Wendell man wanted in a Johnston County shooting last week that left one person dead and a second wounded has been arrested in Georgia, authorities said Tuesday.

Clemente Hernandez-Mojica, 61, was taken into custody Saturday in Gainesville, Ga., and is awaiting extradition to North Carolina. He faces charges of murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.

Antonio Franco, 43, was killed, and Antonia Cisneros, 33, was wounded in a Friday morning shooting in the 11000 block of N.C. Highway 96, south of Zebulon.

Cisneros, a former girlfriend of Hernandez-Mojica and the mother of his children, remains hospitalized, but her condition is stable, authorities said.
