RALEIGH, N.C. — While the sticky pattern of spotty showers sticks around through the weekend, WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze said the weather should improve Sunday.

"Odds are you won't see rain tomorrow and you'll see more sunshine," he said.

7-Day Forecast

But while the rain could stay away, the humidity is definitely sticking around. A steady flow of tropical moisture from the Bahamas will make for soupy days and nights through at least Monday.

Sunday's temperatures will be warmer with highs in the mid 80s. Maze said we could still see some afternoon storms.

Maze advised umbrellas for those who intend to enjoy one of many spring festivals happening across the Triangle this weekend.

Among top picks are Moogfest, in Durham, which includes events both indoors and out around the themes of music and technology. The festival runs Thursday through Sunday at various venues and includes daily Sound Baths, which are a mix of meditation and healing musical performances where people lie on the floor and let the sound wash over them.

In Raleigh, the North Carolina Museum of Art has canceled the Friday night edition of a family-friendly, participatory exhibition of graffiti and murals made of light.

Keep an eye on the forecast if you are headed to downtown Saturday or Sunday for Artsplosure or the Got to Be NC Festival.

The same pattern – highs in the mid- to upper 80s, chance for storms and very sticky conditions – continues all through next week, Maze said. The hottest day will likely be Wednesday with a high of 87.

"As we head into the Memorial Day holiday weekend we still have some showers and storms in the forecasts," Maze said.
