Festivals

Moogfest - This festival combines music, art and technology. The lineup for this year's Moogfest includes a member of the band Limp Bizkit, two shows from Mouse on Mars, a 360-degree audio cube and an art installation from R.E.M. frontman Michael Stipe. The festival runs Thursday through Sunday at various venues throughout downtown Durham.

Artsplosure - Enjoy artwork from more than 170 juried fine artists and craftspeople exhibiting original works of art in 10 different categories during this Raleigh arts festival this weekend. Artists’ booths will line Fayetteville Street amongst music, art installations, food trucks, and more Saturday and Sunday in downtown Raleigh.
Got to Be NC Festival - This precursor to the N.C. State Fair includes carnival rides, festival food and more fun at the State Fairgrounds Friday through Sunday.

Beer and Bacon - The all-you-care-to-taste extravaganza is Saturday at Booth Amphitheatre in Cary. There will tons of craft beer and dishes made with bacon. Tickets are on sale.

Durham Brews and Blues Festival - The Exchange Club of Greater Durham presents The Durham Blues and Brews Festival on Saturday at Durham Central Park. Enjoy great craft beer and blues. Proceeds will go to local nonprofits.
Big Bounce America
Big Bounce America - The world’s biggest bounce house is no longer coming to Raleigh this weekend. The event has been rescheduled to June 1-3.
Carrboro Food Truck Festival – Enjoy food from 10 trucks, in addition to live music and family fun in Carrboro on Sunday.
Bimbé Cultural Arts Festival - Celebrate African American culture with food, music, crafts and more at Rock Quarry Park in Durham on Saturday.

For the foodies

Empanada Extravaganza - Lots of great empanadas to try on Sunday at this event at Durham Central Park on Sunday. There will be more than five trucks offering their versions of this popular Spanish dish.
Morfa serves Argentinean-style empanadas around the Triangle.


Raleigh Beer Olympics - Blonde versus Brunettes will host this event on Saturday at Lucky B's. Two person teams will compete in corn hole, beer or water pong. Five person teams will be competing in flip cup challenges.
Bar Rescue Viewing Party - Moonrunners in Garner will be hosting a viewing party for "Bar Rescue: Back to the Bar" on Sunday night. The restaurant and bar was redone during "Bar Rescue" several years ago and have been noted as one of the show's success stories. The episode featuring a revisit to Moonrunners will air at 10 p.m. To celebrate the episode, the restaurant will be offering special cocktails, food discounts, tours of its food truck and giveaways.
Behind the Scenes with the Durham Bulls


Durham Bulls Food Truck and Fireworks Night - Friday night at the ballpark will include food trucks and after the game there will be fireworks.

Music and fun

Post Malone - See the rapper and 21 Savage at Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in Raleigh on Friday.

Great Gatsby Ball - This casino night event is Saturday at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences Nature Research Center. There will be Vegas-style table games and more. Proceeds will help benefit homelessness prevention and outreach.
The Beast 2018 Season on the Roof
The Beast - This monthly music series continues on Sunday on the rooftop of the Durham Hotel.

Light the Woods with Sound - Head to Dix Park this weekend for a first-of-its-kind sound and light show in the beautiful oak trees of Flowers FIeld! Watch as musicians produce beautiful music and neon lights dance in the trees. This weekend there is a "Hoopla" theme, which means there will be hula hoopers, food trucks and more.
Durty Bull Pop-Up Market - The brewery hosts its first pop-up market of the year on Saturday. There will be 20 local vendors on-site, with a variety of handcrafted goods. There will be a food truck to go along with their beer and a live performance by The River Otters.

Royal Wedding

A few places are hosting watch parties and celebrations for the wedding of Prince Harry and actress Meghan Markle on Saturday morning.



Lafayette Village - This north Raleigh shopping center will host live music, brunch and more from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to celebrate the Royal Wedding and the FA Cup.

The Corner Biergarten - The TCB in Fuquay-Varina will be hosting a Royal Wedding Tea and Watch Party with great food and teas by The Mad Hatter on Saturday.
