Find the bright side. That has been my mantra for the past week.

It's all we have. Cabin fever is starting to set in at my house. My husband is getting increasingly frustrated with my son. And my son is getting increasingly frustrated with being the only kid in the house. I am trying to find the bright side and help everyone else in my house see it!

Here are the things I am enjoying:

Spending time with my family

I am a working mom, and weekends are the only time I really get to see both my son and my husband. During the week, I only get about three hours a day with them. Sure, in the coming weeks, I may not find this to be a bright side, but for now I am enjoying it!

Actually doing yard work — together

I am the gardener in the family. I am forced to ask my husband to help pull weeds. He never volunteers. Well, that has all changed! Now he wants to go outside and pull weeds, use the weed eater, cut down dead branches. It's like I am living in a dream!

Taking hikes together

I haven't really had the time to go hiking since college. That's no longer the case! We have all the time in the world now. We've had a great time showing our son how amazing walking in the woods can be.

Cooking all our meals

This isn’t too far off from our usual routine, but it’s rare that we do it together. I adore cooking. It’s my love language. So being able to make food for my boys makes me so happy. Going to the grocery store to stock up in a surgical mask, not so much. But again, let’s dwell on the bright side!

What are your bright sides? I’d love to hear from you. Comment below! We are all in this together. Sharing the brighter parts of your day can help others find some new light in their lives too!
