Kidzu Children's Museum Kids in Your Kitchen series shares this recipe for curly kale chips. This is an easy one to make with kids. They can wash and dry the kale, tear it in pieces, toss it in the other ingredients and serve as the "watcher." Just turn on the oven light and have them watch for brown edges, Kidzu says. But be sure they call for you when they think it's ready.

Here's the recipe:

Curly Kale Chips

1 bunch of curly kale
1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
  • With a knife or kitchen shears, remove kale leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite-sized pieces. Keep in mind that kale will shrink while cooking.
  • Wash and dry kale thoroughly, be sure to rid it of as much moisture as possible.
  • Drizzle and toss with olive oil and sprinkle with salt.
  • Lay in a single layer on prepared baking sheet
  • Bake until edges turn brown, but are not burnt – about 10-15 minutes watching carefully
