RALEIGH, N.C. — If your Facebook and Instagram feed is all of sudden filled with bright and sunny pictures of sunflowers, here's why: Raleigh's sunflower field at Dix Park, which starting blooming a couple of weeks ago, is the place to be.

The five acres of sunflowers off Hunt Drive near its intersection with Western Boulevard is in full bloom. And on Saturday, it will host SunFest, a free Raleigh parks event that celebrates the flowers and summer. It runs 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, at Dix Park and includes food trucks, live music, crafts, arts and, of course, sunflowers!

I asked for Go Ask Mom readers to share their favorite sunflower pictures over on our Facebook page. We've had dozens of submission so far, which I've added to our image gallery featuring sunflowers (and adorable kids) at just about every angle!

You can see all of the pictures in the image gallery, but here are a few of my favorites (including the one at the top of the post by Jacqueline Dalton Stump of her sweet boy) ...
