RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh Little Theatre will host a fall pops concert with the Raleigh Symphony Orchestra next month. The family-friendly concert is set for 3 p.m., Sept. 16 and will feature music from favorite movies from the 80s to today, including Harry Potter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Pirates of the Caribbean and more. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students.

To promote the program, there will be free pop-up concerts at Cameron Village restaurants that start this weekend. They'll run from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Here's the schedule:

Aug. 26: Harry Potter-themed performances at Village Draft House

Sept. 2: a heroes and villains-themed performance at so.ca

Sept. 9: A spies, crimes and do-gooders-themed performance at Tazza Kitchen.

Families can come either to eat (there will be specials) or there is also going to be seating (lawnchairs and umbrellas) for people who just to enjoy a free mini-concert, I'm told.

Raleigh Little Theatre's website has more information.
Also coming up from RLT: Groove in the Garden is its annual day-long local music festival. It's set for Sept. 22. The kid-friendly event includes a kid’s zone in the Rose Garden with games and crafts.Tickets are $10 in advance and free for kids under 5. The first band starts at 2:30 p.m. Food trucks will be on hand.
And, of course, the theater will launch this season's youth series in just a couple of months, starting with The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in October.
