Quail Ridge Books celebrates new location with two-day party
After moving from its long-time location at Ridgewood Shopping Center and a few months in a temporary spot at North Hills, Quail Ridge Books will mark a new start in its permanent location this weekend with a two-day party.
Posted — UpdatedThe 9,000-square-foot store is on the Lassiter District side of North Hills right off Lassiter Mill Road. The celebration will run 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday.
As part of opening weekend, award-winning children's author Sheila Turnage will visit to give fans the latest news from Tupelo Landing, the N.C. fictional setting for her popular "Mo & Dale Mysteries." She's scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday. (Her books are best for ages 10 and up. My rising middle schooler enjoys them!).
The weekend also will include six prize drawings a day for kids and adults. Craft and book activity stations will be available all day both days, along with (literary) tattoos.
Here's the (updated) schedule:
10 a.m., Saturday, and 2 p.m., Sunday: Trivia contests
11 a.m., Saturday, and 10:30 a.m., Sunday: Storytime with Corduroy
3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday: Storytime with Cat in the Hat
Can't wait to see the new store! It's at 4209-100 Lassiter Mill Rd., Raleigh.
