Police release sketch of suspect in Raleigh homicide

Police on Friday released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in a fatal shooting last week east for downtown Raleigh.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Police on Friday released a composite sketch of a suspect wanted in a fatal shooting last week east for downtown Raleigh.

Vernon Jerome Jefferys, 43, was found shot on Bakers Grove Way, a couple of blocks from Saint Augustine's University, on Feb. 13.

Three men in a white 2017 Nissan Rogue are wanted in Jeffreys death.

A composite sketch of a man wanted in a Feb. 13, 2018, shooting death near downtown Raleigh.

In addition to the sketch of one of the men, police released photos of the SUV taken from a nearby security camera.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Raleigh Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 919-834-4357.
