HOLLY SPRINGS, N.C. — An Angier man was being held at the Wake County jail Thursday on charges he killed a goat in an attempt to steal the animal.
According to the warrant for his arrest, Sidney Lewis Plummer, 49, of 82 Sue Drive, damaged the barbed-wire fence at a Holly Springs property and took a Nubian goat valued at $250. In the process, he hit the goat on the head, breaking its horn and killing it, the warrants say.
Plummer is charged with cruelty to animals, larceny and injury to real property. His bond was set at $5,000.
